Operational Planning – Practitioner
Overview:
A hands-on, scenario-based course that builds on the foundation by immersing students in realistic planning exercises. Students work in teams to develop operational-level plans in dynamic, complex environments.
Aim:
To develop the practical planning competencies required to operate effectively within a joint planning team and contribute to the development of operational directives and concepts.
High-Level Training Objectives:
Conduct mission analysis using operational-level frameworks.
Develop Courses of Action (COAs) aligned with commander’s intent.
Translate strategic guidance into executable operational plans.
Incorporate ISR, fires, logistics, and C2 into planning outputs.
Present and defend planning products during wargaming and briefs.
