UAS Basic Flying Course
Overview:
The UAS Basic Flying Course develops the hands-on skills required to operate a fixed-wing or rotary UAS safely and confidently. Through simulator and live flight exercises, students learn how to control the aircraft across all flight phases and respond to standard and emergency procedures.
Aim:
To train UAS pilots to competently launch, operate, and recover UAS platforms in accordance with safety, mission, and airspace regulations.
High-Level Objectives:
Demonstrate proficiency in UAS take-off, transit, orbit, and recovery
Execute standard flight patterns and altitude changes
Manage data link loss and emergency scenarios
Conduct mission preparation, briefings, and post-flight debriefs
Operate within simulated mission environments
